We believe that every student deserves every advantage. For our 8th graders, it starts before they ever set foot in a high school hallway. At Golden Rule Schools, we’re proud to offer our secondary students the opportunity to earn real, transferable high school credits.
Here is what this looks like today:
Principals of Applied Engineering - CTE Credit
Our 8th graders have the opportunity to enroll in Intro to Engineering, a course that earns them a verified high school credit. This is not a preview course, it is an actual credit that follows them to high school and appears on their transcript from day one. Through hands-on learning, students engage with real engineering concepts and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that employers and colleges seek.
Spanish for High School - LOTE Credit
Language skills are among the most valuable tools our students carry into high school, college, and beyond. So, we also offer our 8th graders the chance to earn a high school language credit in Spanish. GRS students who complete this course arrive in high school already ahead, with credit logged, and more flexibility in their schedules to pursue AP courses, electives, or other opportunities that matter to them.
For many of our students and families, Spanish is already part of daily life. This course honors that knowledge and builds on it in a rigorous, credit-bearing way.
Algebra I - HS Mathematics Credit
We are excited to share that high school Algebra credit is now available to Golden Rule Schools. This addition will give even more students the chance to accelerate their academic journey and arrive in high school ready to take on the most rigorous coursework available to them.
Excel in High School
When a Golden Rule student walks into high school, they walk in prepared. The opportunity to earn high school credits in 8th grade is a layer of preparation that can genuinely change the shape of a student's high school experience. When a GRS 8th grader takes advantage of high school classes, they create room for more AP coursework, more electives, and more choices.
